Another common sales tactic that many window replacement companies use is offering one free window if you purchase, say, three windows. This one can be challenging to discern because it is usually a legitimate sale. However, this does not mean you should accept the offer all the time. Make sure you look at the overall price of all the windows you’re considering purchasing. If they are claiming to offer a free unit with a purchase of three but the total cost of the “three windows plus one free” package deal is more than the price of four individual windows, then it is a red flag.
The bait-and-switch tactic usually starts with a company offering you one type of window-related product or service. But once you have accepted their offer, the company will change it and upsell you to another product or service that costs a lot more. If the company is making significant changes every time you agree to one thing, be careful as it might be a scam.
