    Here at Renewal By Andersen, we strive to create sustainable spaces that take the environment into consideration. We take responsibility for the work that we do and this includes making the most environmentally friendly decisions that we can.

    For over 100 years now, the environment has been an integral factor in decisions regarding manufacturing and resources. Our headquarters are located on the bank of the Minnesota river of St. Croix and this has further inspired us to utilize green practices that protect the surrounding environment and community.

    We also believe in reducing, reusing and recycling throughout the manufacturing process. Over 70 percent of our wood is from forests that are managed in order to maintain the ecological system for plants and animals. We also transport these materials through railways instead of trucks to reduce the carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

    Any wood that is not used is recycled or used in a different component to reduce waste and 99 percent of our by-products are put to use in an efficient way that maximizes sustainability. When it comes to disposing of any solid waste, Andersen Corporation has reduced its numbers by 90 percent since 1990.

    We minimize the use of TRI chemicals and other chlorinated solvents and are proud members of the EPA’s SmartWay® Transport Program.

    Between the years of 2007 and 2011, Andersen has saved over $3 million in reduced energy costs and has met the requirements for LEED certification.
