The colder the temperature, the more likely windows are to shatter, especially when they come into contact with warmer water in your pressure washer. So, wait for a warm summer or early fall day to pressure wash your windows rather than doing so first thing in the spring or late in the fall. Tackle the task in the afternoon once the windows have had a little time to warm up.
It’s not a good idea to power wash windows where the caulking between the panes has begun to decay or peel away, or with wooden sashes that have begun to break down.
